Santa and Mrs. Claus

Joy and I took Rebecca to see Santa at the bank today. Rebecca didn't like Santa or Mrs. Claus.


I guess it's what I deserve for my Santa picture of Christmas 1979.

Since I'm posting Santa pictures, here's a good one. Kelly, Stephen, and Dave. Santa is looking much more authentic these days. :)

Happy School Year

With all the school supplies sales everywhere, it reminds me when I anticipated the first day of school each year. Getting a new lunch box and new crayons and things. This was taken my first year of school when I was four. I think I was four. I was a cute kid back then. Anyhoot, have a great week!

The Anderson Family

Another old picture, this one is from Steve's family. It's Felix Thomas "Tom" Anderson & Julia Ann Gwaltney, their children Hattie, Luke, Mark, & Ruth (Granny), about 1905. This is Steve's g-g-grandparents, Grandma's Moore's grandparents. Tom died not long after this picture was taken.

An oldie, but a goodie

I had this picture saved with some pictures I'm getting printed today, so I thought I'd post it. It's kind of blurry, but I really like it. Everyone's laughing at something my Uncle Ronald was saying. My mom is in the back on the left.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday was Saturday, St. Patrick's Day. I've been meaning to post an old picture, but just haven't been able to the last few days. So here's one of my mom with her grandmother on the left, and her great grandparents. This is an old church in Ringgold, GA. If you've ever been on I-75 through Ringgold, you've driven right by Ebeneezer Baptist Church. Happy birthday, mom! Hope you like your cup! (I'll post a picture of that later.) We miss you!

Disney World

My sister and brother in-law and my parents went to Disney World this weekend, so I thought this would be a good one to post. This is another slide of grandmother's. This was in the 70's when they went to Disney. My mom remembers they had to buy ticket books for the rides. The A tickets were better rides, and you only got a few of them in each ticket book. She said there were no lines at the rides. I can't imagine being at Disney World with so few people!

Mountain Cottage

I love looking at old pictures and hearing family stories. I've been looking through my grandmother's old slides. My uncle scanned them all for her, so we have them on our computer now. This is of the mountain cottage where my grandparents took the whole family one summer. The cabin was in North Carolina and belonged to friend's of Granddaddy's. It had no electricity, not indoor bathroom, and the kitchen floor was slanted so everything almost slid off the tables. They stayed one night and then went on to Cherokee. In the picture from the left, my Uncle Fuller, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Phillip, my mom, and Uncle Stephen.
