Trick or Treat 2011

Finally got these to post. Our Internet connection has been slow at times, and tonight it's painfully slooow. They're not the greatest pictures, but this is the best I could get tonight. This was Rebecca's first time trick or treating. The only candy she knew were the "pops" (lollipops). After one trip around the block, we went back to Joy's house where she soon forgot about her pops and the rest of her candy. We had lots of candy, so we took some of all three of the kids' candy and gave it back out to the neighbors while Stephen set up his telescope for trick or treaters and parents to look at the moon. Then we stopped by Aunt Sandy's house, which Rebecca was excited about. Rebecca always gets candy at Aunt Sandy's house, even if it isn't Halloween! :) We had plans to make a couple more stops, but Rebecca would soon turn into a pumpkin.

Corn Maze

I love fall and doing all the fall activities, pumpkin patch, hay ride, pumpkin carving. We took a trip to the corn maze last weekend. It was kind of warm for a fall activity, but it was lots of fun nonetheless. There's a lot of things to do, lots of places to play.

Rebecca thought it was her job to rid the corn maze of loose corn and corn husks. She tried to take corn with her.

I'm always the one taking pictures, so there never seems to be any pictures of Rebecca and me. So this time we actually got one.

We got a pumpkin before we left, but this isn't the pumpkin patch we usually go to. We're planning to go there tomorrow. We won't get a pumpkin since their prices are much higher, but we always go there in the fall. And I think Rebecca will enjoy it more this year.

8 inches

It's four degrees here right now! (4.3) The sun is out already, but the high today is still only in the 20's.


Rebecca was sick last night, so yesterday was the only time she was able to go out in the snow. I think we got 8-9 inches, depending on where you measure.

Snow

We had a little bit of snow Friday and Saturday. When it started snowing, Steve took Rebecca on the deck. She liked taking the snow out of this chair.


We went outside and played for a few minutes. Steve was making snowballs here and throwing them. She thought that was hilarious.

We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow, quite a bit more.

Snow days

It snowed here Sunday night. Rebecca stayed with Aunt Joy on Monday and played with the boys, but it was Tuesday before I was able to take her out to play in our yard. She just walked around and didn't do much. But she must have liked it, she didn't want to go in!

Arkansas Frontier

We went to another pumpkin patch this past weekend. This one had a smaller pumpkin patch, but more other stuff to do including a train ride and a walk through the enchanted forest. I liked the old schoolhouse and ranch. Joy said it looked like everything in the ranch came from my house. :) The kids wore their costumes and did their part to look cute. I finally got a pretty good pictures of them, and all three were smiling! That's pretty rare!

Pumpkin Patch fun

Friday afternoon we went to the pumpkin patch. Memaw was in town for the week visiting with us, so she was able to go too. Rebecca found a small pumpkin she liked and carried it around with her. It was still a little too warm for pumpkin patch visiting. We're going to a different pumpkin patch in a couple of weeks, so maybe it will be cooler then. We did finally get a little rain this week!

It's really hard to get a picture with three small kids all looking at the same time.

Justin and my dad were kicking the soccer ball around, and Rebecca thought that was so funny! She laughed and laughed!

Fall pictures

Joy and I wanted to take pictures of Rebecca and Justin and Jackson in their costumes. We went to a park near our house, and it was a pretty day for pictures. Justin did great. He seems to have grown out of his "I don't want my picture taken" phase. Jackson does not want to sit still these days for pictures. Or smile. Rebecca did pretty well. She just wasn't in a mood for smiling. Usually Aunt Joy does a good job of making herself look silly to make Rebecca smile, and it has always worked in the past. I did get some good pictures of them. Now I need to decide which one to send for a fall card! :)

More snow

It's been snowing for most of the day. We have about 5 inches of snow on our deck right now, and it's still snowing! I love watching snow fall. So pretty! It looks like we'll have some snow ice cream tonight:)

I guess since it's snowing, everyone is at home on the Internet. It's running so slow today! So I'm getting off to be productive while Rebecca is alseep.

Goodbye snow

We (mainly Steve) built a snowman Saturday.


Yesterday after church we went to Joy and John's house for lunch. I had to get a couple of pictures of barns.

This was Jackson all day yesterday. He's never like this. He's always so happy, so it was really strange seeing him in a bad mood.

Most of the snow is melting now and is just dirty slush.

Snow day 2

As soon as Rebecca was fed this morning and snuggling in bed with her Daddy, I went outside to take more pictures of the snow. We got over four inches, and that doesn't happen very often here.


I love how the water freezes on all the tiny branches.



This is my favorite from this weekend so far. I like how it messes with your perception. The house looks closer than it really is. Weird.

Snow day

We got a few inches of snow today. These were taken this morning. Then it snowed most of the day, so there's a lot more snow out there now. We had snow ice cream tonight! Steve put a bowl on the deck, and tonight it was full. We had about a quart of snow. I added 3/4 tsp vanilla, 1/4 cup of sugar, and about 1/2 cup of milk. Yummy!
