Diaper covers

These are the super cute diaper covers I got for Rebecca. This is the XS size, so I just hope she comes when she's still able to wear them! I'm sure she will wear them for a little while though. These are up to 12 pounds.

The other day, Kelly said Rebecca is taking after Stephen and being stubborn. And now that we are past the 17th, she has another one of her father's characteristics. . .being late!

I'm still here. . . .

I'm still here and still pregnant. My last day of work was last Friday, so I have been enjoying the time to rest and clean and sew. I've been using my surger and working on getting it to stop breaking thread. Anyone know anything about surgers? Tomorrow is the 17th, our due date. Unfortunately Rebecca still shows no signs of wanting to be born on time. So if she is still being stubborn by Tuesday morning, I'll be induced! Woohoo! It is a relief to have a final date, and that we hopefully will not have a nine pound baby. Now I know I won't be pregnant forever, or even for more than five more days. Below is a picture of the adorable burp cloths Joy had made for Rebecca. I love the pink and green combo. I'm going to go surge something now. :)

9 months!

It seems like we were just sharing the news that we were having a baby, and now here we are expecting her very soon! The last couple of weeks have been tiring and I'm ready for Rebecca to come sooner rather than later. This week is my last week working at the credit union. It's kind of bittersweet. I've worked there for almost three years and made friends and had some fun times and interesting stories. But it's definitely more sweet than bitter. :) Today our Thirsties diaper covers came in the mail from Amazon, which I used my gift card on! I must say, they are so stinking cute! I'll get some pictures later to share. Now I think I'm going to head off to my sister's house for some spaghetti.

A dresser at last!

We got a dresser at a yard sale this weekend! It was $15, and one of the few things Joy and I found this weekend. It may be getting too hot to do a lot of yard sales. But I'm not complaining! I was pretty excited about my dresser purchase. I wasn't sure I would find one before Rebecca came, but Got sent me my dresser! So I spent part of my Saturday afternoon cleaning the dresser and filling it up. I also got a smallish area rug for $2, a basket, and a wooden nativity scene for $1.

Shower gifts

There were two baby showers for us this weekend. There are lots of pictures of the actual shower. Joy has them on her camera and I haven't gotten them yet. Besides that, I'm so tired, I think this is all the pictures I can do for now. You can check Joy's facebook page to see the other pictures.

Saturday was the family shower at Libby's house, which Holly and Libby organized. It was hot since the electricity still wasn't back on from Friday's storm, but it was still a good time and Rebecca got lots of nice things.


Naomi made a diaper cake which is really cute. I hate to take it apart!


And yesterday afternoon was the church shower where Rebecca got clothes, picture frames, blankets, clothes, shoes, stuffed animals, diapers, clothes. . . .She officially has more clothes than I do. But they're all so cute!


And this is one of my favorite gifts. It's an heirloom dress that Miss Rosie made. She made a slip to go with it, and she said she will embroider Rebecca's name on it. It's so delicate and beautiful!


And Nana's gift arrived today from Florida. Very cute stuff! Rebecca has lots of dresses, girly outfits and bows, so there will be no mistaking that this child is a girl! I've had a this paranoia that someone will think she's a boy. :)

8 months and counting!

It seems like I was just posting the 7 month picture, and here we are at 8 months already. Just a few more weeks left and Rebecca will be here! I feel pretty good, just really tired all the time. I slept until almost 8:00 this morning! I never sleep that late! I have today off, so I'm taking full advantage of the chance to rest. And I get so out of breath! It doesn't take much to leave me feeling winded. So here's this month's picture of my enlarged self.


And I ordered this off ebay last week, and it came in the mail Wednesday. Isn't it the cutest? :)



It's really nice outside this morning. I wish I could open the windows without smelling the skunk that got hit by a car right in front of our house Wednesday night! :)

7 months

Moving right along with just a couple more months left until Rebecca makes her entrance. My back bothers me some, but overall I feel good. This morning when I took this picture, I wasn't sure I could crawl out of bed because my back hurt. This past Monday I had to get my RH negative shot. Something I was not looking forward to after hearing about it from my sister. But it wasn't bad. Those fertility shots I had to have every day were much worse! This week I've been at home on pto, so I'm enjoying the time off. I'm going to get some scrapbooking done today. It's been my goal this year to get "caught up", as that is the goal of every scrapbooker. I've gotten a lot of pages done, with still many more pictures left. But it's getting there. :)

Rebecca's crib

We bought a crib a couple of weeks ago and now we have it put together and the bedding all in it. I decided a while ago I wanted the nursery to be a Noah's Ark theme, whether we had a boy or girl. After we found out we were having a girl, I was kind of wishing we'd done everything in pink instead. But now that it's put together, the Noah's Ark stuff is pretty cute too. The rest of her room still needs a little work, but it's getting there.

6 months

Here's our six month picture. Rebecca is moving a lot these days, and there is no mistaking her kicks now. I've been feeling great, other than occasional back pains. And now I've started to get extremely tired. But that's to be expected, as I've been told. We have been busy making preparations for Rebecca's arrival in just 3 months! Joy is letting us borrow her bassinet. She put it together last weekend, since I couldn't figure it out. I had a hard enough time just putting the cover over the top. We want to get the cats used to it so they won't claim it as theirs. So far it's not going well. I tried the foil thing, that's not working. Gizmo didn't like the foil so he hasn't been going in it. The foil doesn't bother Nova at all and she still jumps in. It's a good thing we started this early. We plan on buying her crib this weekend!

Baby Stuff

Rebecca already has a lot of clothes, thanks to generous grandparents and aunts. I promise, I've only bought a few things! Here's what we've gotten from family so far. We also have some bigger items from my sister Joy that she used for Justin and Jackson. (bassinet, swing, car seat)


And Steve got Rebecca's closet shelves put up this weekend. So we can now hang all of her things up.


And this weekend was the beginning of the big consignment sale at Rhea Lana's. Here's what we got. I really wanted to get a crib, but I didn't see any I liked. Joy and I went Saturday night for the pre-sale. I just got a diaper bag and a couple of maternity shirts. We spent over an hour in line to pay, after which my back was really hurting! Then I went back yesterday afternoon with Joy and my mom, and it wasn't nearly as busy. I just got a few things that were way too cute to pass up. :)



And this is one of my favorites. It's so girly and dainty. :)

And this was taken today, 22 weeks or five months and one week. I was a little late taking this months' picture. And she's moving a lot these days! At least it seems that way to me. I think it's just about the best feeling in the world! :)

Five months

Here's the latest pictures from this morning. Rebecca has grown a lot! She weighs about one pound now, and I have been noticing some movement the last couple of weeks. Which is kind of weird, but definitely a pretty cool feeling. This first picture is her profile. She was moving a lot, and we could see her mouth moving in a sucking motion. I laughed and made the first picture blurry, so the doctor got a couple more.


And the doctor confirmed once again that we're having a girl. And it's a good thing because Rebecca already has a lot of pink girly stuff! :)


And here's her tiny little foot. Her foot is a little over an inch long now!

We're having a. . . .

. . .GIRL!!! The doctor is 99.9% sure Baby Meeks is a girl! (As I have suspected)We're both very excited. I can't wait to find some pink, girly stuff. Steve has said all along we would only have boys. But I can tell he's excited. :)

We have a few names we're thinking of, but haven't decided on anything yet.

I've been feeling much better the last few weeks, so hopefully the worst of my morning/night sickness is gone.

Baby Meeks

I went back to the doctor this morning, and she wanted to do another ultrasound. So here's our latest picture. Steve didn't go with me because the ultrasound was not planned, but he'll be there next month and we should find out for sure if we're having a boy or a girl. In this one, it looks like a peanut.

You are all sooo going to get tired of seeing our baby pictures. Except for maybe spoiling grandparents and aunts. :)

Baby Meeks

If you haven't heard the news yet, then you obviously have not talked to our moms recently! We're very excited about our little Sweet Pea. Here's our latest baby picture. At this appointment we were able to see him or her moving around and heard a strong, fast heartbeat. I've had some morning sickness, usually just at night. Since I'm a morning person anyway, it works out. I've just been going to bed earlier, which you probably did not thing was possible! :) Baby Meeks is due to arrive around July 17th!
